Beading Against Assimilation

Art is Life, Art is Us

Facilitated by Michelle Brownlee and Naomi Harvey-Turner

Beading Against Assimilation engages community members by providing space to pass on important cultural traditions, art and practices that enable Urban Natives to be visible within the City of Chicago. Over the course of nine weeks, participants will learn three different beading techniques. This project is designed to uphold our local community members and help to pass on traditional knowledge and skills through the arts.
