The Chicago American Indian Community Collaborative (CAICC) is a network of seventeen organizations and programs dedicated to meeting the needs and improving conditions for Native Americans in the greater Chicago-land area. All seventeen organizations are committed to a Memorandum of Understanding that clarifies the expectations and responsibilities for the collaborative.
A Steering Committee of seventeen delegates representing each individual organization serves as the governing board for CAICC and oversees decisions regarding policies and programming. Subcommittees focusing on arts & culture, education, organizational development, advocacy, and media further develop strategies and initiatives in their topical areas.
The Administrative Oversight Committee (AOC) oversees budget expenditures and modifications based on financial reports prepared by the Fiscal Agent and Lead Facilitator. The AOC also provides support for grant opportunities, report submissions, hiring processes, and strategic planning to the Lead Facilitator. The AOC works with funders and other public officials to meet the goals of CAICC.
