CAICC Food Resource Guide

Updated 11.17.2025

Native Americans face food insecurity at rates higher than the national average — about 1 in 4 Native Americans experience food insecurity. CAICC created this resource guide to share various food resources that serve the Native American community. It also details the emergency services that CAICC is coordinating to help meet the challenging times, due to the government shutdown and SNAP funding lapse.

Pop-Up Food Distribution

CAICC will be offering FREE weekly food distribution from 3PM – 7PM at St. Kateri Center on Thursdays through the end of 2025 for those in need. Below are the distribution dates:

  • November 20
  • December 4
  • December 11
  • December 18

Location: St. Kateri Center, 3938 N Leavitt St, Chicago, IL 60618

Time: 3:00PM – 7:00PM

Register for each week

Walk-ins are welcome starting at 5:30PM until supplies last.

Register Here

We will be working to provide fresh food items each week, so we are asking each household to register each week that you plan to pick up food. Your registration will help us accommodate fresh foods while minimizing waste. When registering, we will collect your name, tribal affiliation, household size, and zip code. Each household will receive one pre-packaged food kit/box per household, that will include fresh produce, non-perishables, and more, until supplies last. Boxes will contain items to create meals as well as staple items. Walk-ins are welcome starting at 5:30PM – 7PM, first come, first served. Walk-ins, please don’t arrive before 5:30PM.

Pop-Up Food Pantry

If you cannot attend our food distribution, we are also offering a food pantry at the Tunica-Biloxi Chicago Branch Office. This food pantry will be open during regular business hours for the Native community of Chicago through the end of December 2025.

Location: Tunica-Biloxi Chicago Branch Office, 600 W Cermak 2B, Chicago, IL 60616

Time: Tuesday – Thursday, 10AM – 5PM

This food pantry will be accessible for the Native American community through the end of December 2025. To access the pantry, use the stairwell entrance at the corner of Cermak and Jefferson. Accommodations can be made for anyone who has difficulty with stairs. Unlike the distribution, we will not be collecting any personal information, and the pantry will be self-serve. We plan to stock the pantry with shelf-stable items on a weekly basis. All are welcome to come during business hours and help yourself to what you need.
