The D'Arcy McNickle Center for American Indian and Indigenous Studies at the Newberry Library presents scholarly and public programming related to American Indian and Indigenous history and supports research using our world-renowned collection of book and manuscript materials related to Indigenous history. We help members of the public learn and engage with our extensive collection and are here to support research inquiries to help Native researchers connect with their heritage and cultural knowledge. The library is free and open to all - you do not need an advanced degree or even research experience to access the collection and start exploring materials.
